Steven Humphreys was appointed Identiv CEO in September 2015 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1996.

Mr. Humphreys brings over three decades of industry experience as a leader of security technology companies, focusing on government-grade logical and physical access control, secure credentials and digital identity solutions, and RFID and mobile app software. The companies he’s led include SCM Microsystems (early developer of CAC/PIV readers and apps), ActivCard (CAC card specification, platform and apps), Hirsch/Identiv (low-cost/high-security access control), and others.

Mr. Humphreys holds a B.S. degree from Yale University and M.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Stanford University.

Justin Scarpulla was named Chief Financial Officer of Identiv in December 2021. Mr. Scarpulla brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience to Identiv. He joins Identiv from SpaceX, which designs, manufactures, and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft, as well as operating the Starlink internet constellation, deploying thousands of advanced communications satellites. While at SpaceX, Mr. Scarpulla led initiatives across financial planning and analysis, accounting, and operations, developing and managing financial systems to optimize resources across diverse, high-growth, cash-intensive activities. He managed business leadership engagement across the company, reporting to SpaceX CFO Bret Johnsen.

Prior to SpaceX, Mr. Scarpulla was Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Incipio and Vice President and Corporate Controller at Vizio. He also served as Chief Accounting Officer and Controller at MaxLinear, an NYSE-listed semiconductor company, where he built the financial team and systems to support rapid growth from $70M to $300M in revenue over four years.

Mr. Scarpulla holds his B.A. in Accounting and Finance from California State University Fullerton.

Dr. Manfred Mueller was named Chief Strategy Officer of Identiv in April 2024. As a result of the diverse roles he has held at Identiv – including sales, marketing, product management, business development, and investor relations – he has a deep understanding of the company’s technology, markets, customers, stakeholders and operations.

Dr. Mueller joined Identiv in 2000. Before joining Identiv, Dr. Mueller was responsible for strategic investments, product development, and M&A activities for BetaResearch GmbH, the digital TV division of the German Kirch Group.

Dr. Mueller holds M.S. and Ph.D degrees in Chemistry from Regensburg University in Germany and an M.B.A. from the Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Kirsten Newquist joined Identiv in April 2024 as President, IoT Solutions.

Ms. Newquist boasts a prolific 30-year career with a focus on delivering outstanding results in strategy, general management, and business development for Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining Identiv, she served as the Global Vice President of Healthcare and Product Line Management at Avery Dennison Smartrac, and earlier, led their Medical Products business, spearheading significant innovation in new product development and the complex manufacturing required for those products.

A committed leader, she is known for her expertise in executive management, strategic planning, and fostering strong cross-functional team leadership. Her career is marked by a deep commitment to customer-centric approaches and robust partnership building, significantly enhancing business growth and product innovation.

Ms. Newquist holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.

Mark Allen was appointed Identiv General Manager, Premises in January 2016. Mr. Allen has been with Identiv since 2003, most recently in a product manager role. He has more than 29 years of practical experience in technology at start-ups and public companies, ranging from programming, software development, and engineering to business development, R&D, and operations.

Prior to joining Identiv, Mr. Allen was Founder and President at Preferred Business Solutions Inc. from June 1999 to September 2003. Prior to Preferred Business Solutions, he served as VP Engineering at Access 360 from August 1994 to June 1999. His previous positions also include Software Development Manager at The Orange County Register and Lead Programmer Analyst at Security Pacific Financial Services.

Mr. Allen majored in Computer Science, Math, Commerce, and Physics at Kings Norton in the United Kingdom.

Mike Taylor joined Identiv in July 2020 as Vice President of Global Sales. Mr. Taylor brings more than 20 years of long, deep sales and channel-building experience and leadership across access control and video, in both enterprise businesses and progressive early-movers.

At AMAG Technology, Mr. Taylor served as Vice President of North American Sales where he led strategic sales and growth initiatives focused on expanding adoption of the company’s technologies. Prior to AMAG, he ran North American Sales for Brivo Systems and Milestone Systems, and most recently led Global Sales for Razberi Technologies.

Amir Khoshniyati was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager, IoT at Identiv in April 2024.

Mr. Khoshniyati has produced a track record of success and results in high-volume hardware manufacturing, deployment of advanced technology, and facilitating fast-paced growth. Prior to Identiv, he held senior level positions at multiple RFID manufacturing organizations driving global RFID growth and SaaS adoption, and trailblazing the acceptance of NFC/HF technologies.

He is a leading stakeholder for NFC technology globally and sits on the NFC Forum Board defining standards and processes, and leads the adoption of the technology in this IoT era. Mr. Khoshniyati was recognized for the design of four value-add solutions that are key modules within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 product stack. He has a strong passion for assisting the youth in the Southern California community and frequently gives back through his organization, Gentlemen of Orange County.

Mr. Khoshniyati holds an MBA from Cal State Fullerton and degrees in Business Management, Operations, International Communications, and Finance from the University of Arizona, Nanjing University, and Harvard Business School.

Tanya Freedland was appointed Identiv Vice President of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition in December 2022. Ms. Freedland is a top performing, strategic human resources leader with 25 years of HR and talent acquisition experience. She is known for developing and leading innovative solutions to reorganize and streamline HR functions to maximize performance, profitability, and effectiveness. She has a strong commitment to driving cultural transformation, increasing employee engagement, developing leaders, and retaining employees while fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture.

Ms. Freedland has overseen efforts that have resulted in: more effective and streamlined talent acquisition practices that better leverage technology; company wide diversity and inclusion strategies, including initiatives to improve diversity at the executive level; redesigned retirement programs; initiatives to harmonize compensation and benefit programs to promote efficient internal movement of talent; and more thoughtful, comprehensive talent management and talent development programs.
