Identiv Wins Security Today’s 2020 New Product of the Year Award It’s no secret that the world is still contending with the disabling pandemic that is COVID-19, making an accessible solution more critical than ever for public health and safety. Identiv’s uTrust SafeTemp body temperature measurement patch has been a major innovator in supporting the reopening of public venues and simplifying patient monitoring by government and healthcare workers. The wearable patch is a near field communication (NFC)-enabled transponder that combines the simplicity of using NFC and the smart technology potential of the Internet of Things (IoT), making it simple for anyone to monitor personal temperature curves.
“With COVID-19 and other illnesses that can spread far too quickly before being diagnosed, more safety indicators adoptable by large public venues are critical. That’s where temperature readings come in,” said Steven Humphreys, Identiv CEO. “Our goal with uTrust SafeTemp has been to support the safest possible reopening of these spaces — this award is an honor and testament to the company’s process.”
Security Today’s annual award honors the outstanding product development achievements of security equipment manufacturers whose products are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to improve security. In the 12th successful year of the independently juried contest, winners were honored in 37 product award categories. The complete list of 2020 winners is available via Security Today.
